Giselle Liu is a director of photography based in Los Angeles and Beijing. She grew up in China. She got her MFA in the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University.
Growing up in East Asia, she has been shaped by a culture that often values emotional restraint and collective harmony. She is passionate about creating films that explore deep human emotions and relationships. Her work is characterized by a unique blend of minimalism and emotional depth, capturing both the light and dark aspects of life. She is dedicated to using her cross-cultural background to bring fresh perspectives to storytelling, with a focus on authenticity and visual storytelling.
